With NSIC tournament matches not reflecting in last week’s rankings, #15 Wayne State College remained eighth in the most recent NCAA Central Region poll with the selection show set for next Monday.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, only one change was made towards the top of the regional rankings.

The NSIC, Mid-America Athletic Association and Great American Conference comprise the 39-team NCAA Central Region.  The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Central Region Tournament Dec. 5 – 8. The NCAA volleyball selection show will be streamed online on Monday, Nov. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Central Time on NCAA.com.

Again, the records reflected in this week’s region rankings do not count Tuesday night’s first round NSIC Tournament games where #12 Southwest Minnesota State suffered a four-set loss to #18 Northern State.

#2 St. Cloud from the NSIC remains the top team in the region while #3 Nebraska-Kearney from the MIAA moved up one spot switching places with #8 Concordia-St. Paul from the NSIC dropping to third.

MIAA teams Missouri Western (receiving votes), #9 Central Oklahoma and #25 Washburn all remained fourth through sixth while NSIC teams of #12 SMSU, #15 Wayne State College and #18 Northern State stayed put at seventh to ninth. Emporia State from the MIAA rounded out the top 10 Central Region teams.

The GAC champion will take the #8 spot with MIAA and NSIC tourney winners automatically qualifying with the final five spots decided on at-large.

#15 Wayne State College most recently swept Winona State to improve to 23-6 on the season during the NSIC Volleyball Tournament.
