WSC soccer falls to Augie 4-1

Augustana used a pair of second half goals to pull away for a 4-1 Northern Sun Conference women’s soccer victory over Wayne State on a blustery Friday afternoon at the WSC Soccer Pitch.

Augustana scored twice in the first 13 minutes of the match to take a 2-0 advantage, but Wayne State cut the deficit in half right before halftime on a goal by Kaelyn Reeves, making it 2-1 at intermission.

With the wind at their backs in the second half, Augustana outscored Wayne State 2-0 and outshot them 10-0 to pull away with the win.

Reeves netted her second goal of the season to lead WSC. Riann Daas had two shots on goal with Reagan Allen adding one. Senior goalkeeper Hayden Wallace was credited with five saves in the losing effort.

The Wildcats (5-5-2, 3-3-2 NSIC) will travel to No. 15  Minnesota State for a 1 p.m. matchup on Sunday in Mankato.
