WSC teams 15th at Augustana Twilight Invite

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Both Wayne State cross country teams finished 15th in the season-opening Augustana Twilight Invitational held at Yankton Trails Park.

Senior Titus Kiptoo led the Wayne State men with a 53rd place finish out of 358 runners in the 32-team meet with a time of 20:42.9. Sophomore Quentin Dreyer followed in 72nd place at 21:00.6.

Other Wayne State placings and times included Abe Schroeder (115th, 21:32.0), Gabe Peitz (145th, 21:49.6), Andrew Wyllie (176th, 22:14.9), Brandon Mitzel (214th, 22:40.1), Brady Franzen (233rd, 22:56.2) and Carter Roth (323rd, 25:18.0).

The Wildcat women were led by Brooke Solomon, as the senior came home 79th out of 358 runners with a time of 19:31.9. Lindsey Stuckey followed at 20:32.4 for 137th place and Allison Stineman was 139th at 20:33.2.

Other places and times include Kylie Pachta (147th, 20:45.0), Kelsey Larsen (175th, 21:10.6), Callie Kirchner (187th, 21:18.0), Madeline Kunz (196th, 21:27.8), Maelee Beacom (226th, 21:58.9), Meghan Cunningham (239th, 22:11.0), Faith Polacek (241st, 22:16.0), Taylor Thorp (281st, 22:57.7), Ava McGown (289th, 23:11.0) and Kendall Stone (303rd, 23:42.7).

Wayne State competes in the Dordt Invitational on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
