The Wayne Herald received word from Wayne State softball coach Shelli Manson that Thursday's doubleheader with Upper Iowa will be moved from Fayette, Iowa to Wayne.

The reason for the change in venue is the forecast of bad weather in the region on Thursday. The game had previously been moved from Wednesday to Thursday with the forecast of bad weather in the Fayette area, but subsequent updates made for the change of venue to Wayne, where the storm is forecast to pass through by Wednesday.

The doubleheader is a key matchup in the final week of the Northern Sun Conference softball season. Wayne State is in first place at 19-5, with Upper Iowa in fourth place just a game back at 17-5. Augustana and Minnesota State, at 18-5, are tied for second.

The games will be played at the Chapman Complex, starting at 3 p.m. Although playing at home, Wayne State will be the visitor for Thursday's games.
