It was a 1-1 weekend for #9 Wayne State College volleyball matching up against two NSIC opponents on the road.
From Winona, MN, WSC won in four sets at Winona State University on Oct. 3 (25-14, 25-17, 17-25, 20-28) followed by a 3-0 loss to #11 Concordia-St. Paul (14-25, 21-25, 12-25) on Oct. 4.
#9 Wayne State College saw their eight-match win streak snapped falling to 13-3 (6-1 NSIC). The Warriors are now 10-5 (5-2 NSIC) as CSP has won eight straight now at 11-3 (7-0 NSIC).
In the four set win over WSU, junior Channatee Robles (two blocks, one ace) recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 12 digs while sophomore Molly Romano (three kills, two blocks, one ace) also had a double-double with 44 assists and 11 digs.
Freshman Delaney Miller added 13 kills, two blocks and a dig as sophomore Chloe Hanel tacked on 11 kills, three blocks and two digs.
Freshman Mattie Kamerty led WSC in digs with 16 to go along with eight kills. Sophomore Anna Borner had 14 digs and redshirt junior Reese Johnson totaled 11 digs.
Juinor Laney Kathol posted four blocks (one solo) and six kills.
During the 3-0 loss at Concordia-St. Paul, Kamery was the team leader in kills with six (-.043 attack percentage), 10 digs and a service ace.
Robles followed with five kills (.029), 11 digs and an ace.
Romano (one kill, one ace, one block) posted a second double-double on the weekend with 22 assists and 12 digs (team-high).
Hanel added five kills, two blocks and a dig as junior Ella Myler tallied three kills and a block.
#9 WSC will next host (RV) Minnesota State-Manakto (14-1/6-1 NSIC) on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. and #13 St. Cloud State (12-3/7-0 NSIC) the following night at 5 p.m.
