For the 21st consecutive year, the Wayne State College volleyball team received the United States Marines Corp and American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award.

WSC has the longest active streak in NCAA Div. II for the academic award and received the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll Award for being in the top 20 percent in NCAA Div. II with a cumulative grade point average of 3.80.

The award, initiated in 1992-93, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. Wayne State was one of 14 schools from the Northern Sun Conference to earn the honor.

Wayne State had 10 athletes earn NSIC All-Academic honors this season with two of those athletes – Jessie Brandl and Isabelle Vacek – receiving the NSIC/Myles Brand All-Academic With Distinction Award.  Brandl, Taya Beller, Kelsie Cada and Rachel Walker were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District while Beller and Walker were both named CSC Academic All-American Third Team this season.
