WSC women's golf qualifies for first-ever NCAA division II championships

Following a third place finish during the NSIC Women's Golf Championships and a 17th ranking inside the final regional poll, Wayne State College will continue into the postseason.

According to a release, this marks the first time in school history that the Wayne State College women’s golf team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships.

The tournament field was announced late Monday afternoon and the Wildcats were one of 18 teams to qualify for the NCAA Central Regional which will take place Monday, May 5 - Wednesday, May 7 at KickingBird Golf Course in Edmond, Oklahoma and hosted by Central Oklahoma.

WSC was announced as the #15 seed by the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Committee out of the 18 teams that were selected for the NCAA Central Regional along with six individuals from non-qualifying schools.
