The Wayne State women's rugby team is well on its way to a fourth consecutive national title in 7-on-7's play after sweeping its pool and advancing to the semifinals in the National Small College Rugby Organization 7-on-7 national touranment in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Wildcats swept through pool play on Saturday morning, beating William & Mary 39-0, University of Rochester 35-0 and York College (Pa.) 15-5. In their quartfinal matchup, the Wildcats got their third shutout of the tournament with a 31-0 whitewashing of Simpson.
Wayne State will play Colorado College in the semifinals on Sunday at 8:55 a.m., with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship game at 10:55 a.m. The other semifinal will feature Lee vs. Colgate.
