WSC women’s rugby set to play in NSCRO 7’s championships

The Wayne State women’s rugby will be looking to reclaim its 7-on-7 national title that it lost a year ago in this weekend’s NSCRO 7’s national championships this weekend in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Wildcats will play in one of four four-team pools that will compete on Saturday morning and early afternoon. From there, the top eight teams advance to the knockout round with quarterfinals being played Saturday afternoon and the semifinals, consolation and championship games played on Sunday.

Wayne State is in a bracket with New York Rochester, California, and Scranton University. The Wildcats will face Cal at 9 a.m. CDT, followed by a 10:40 a.m. matchup with Scranton and a 12:20 p.m. game against Rochester. The top two teams in the pool advance to the quarterfinals, with quarterfinal games starting at 3:20 p.m.

Winners in Saturday’s quarterfinals advance to the semifinals at 8:40 a.m., with the championship game set for 11 a.m.
