Wayne State senior Robert Sullivan was selected the Northern Sun Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week following his performance in last weekend’s Minnesota State Open in Mankato, Minn.
Sullivan recorded a first-place finish in the pentathlon with a point total of 5,177, which currently ranks fourth in NCAA Div. II and is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Sullivan’s mark of 6 feet, 9 3/4 inches in the high jump was a new school record, eclipsing his own record of 6-8 3/4 set last season. The new mark in the high jump is also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark that is tied for 12th in NCAA Div. II.
Wayne State will compete on Saturday at the Dakota Reality Alumni Invitational at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, S.D.
