After several years of work and fundraising, the ball field in Carroll will finally have a working water system this year.
Shelly Junck and Darian Stoltenberg did a sign campaign from 2022 to 2024, asking donors to “buy” a sign to not only advertise their business at the Carroll ball field, but to also help the Carroll Junior Rec Program with funds for a waterline fix. This will allow the field to have water to its concessions and bathrooms.
A bid, which included a donation of labor, from Castle Hill was approved at the April 8, 2026 Carroll Village meeting. The Village of Carroll approved paying for half of the bid, splitting it with the Carroll Junior Rec Program.
Moving forward, the Carroll Junior Rec program will now be able to have a t-ball team for the 2026 season, serving three to seven year olds.
The season is set to begin on Wednesday, May 6.
Fundraising will continue in the 2026 season to assist with other field updates such new netting, new bases and concession stand updates.
