Brooke Young of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was the medalist and the Wayne girls claimed the runner-up trophy in the Stanton Invitational golf tournament Friday in Stanton.
Young was the only golfer to shoot under 100, finishing with a 93 to win by 14 shots over Georgia Witte of Archbishop Bergan. Wayne’s Hana Nelsen was third with a 111.
Nelsen led the Blue Devils to a team score of 491, finishing runner-up to Archbishop Bergan’s 462. Megan Keiser placed eighth with a 118 and Kecia Schenk shot 127 to finish 10th. Natalie Bentjen shot 135 and Liz Junck carded a 137.
Taylor French shot 131 to finish 13th while competing as a JV player. Other area scores included Glenda Vance and Nicole Hanson of LCC, shooting 157 and 164, respectively.
