Candidate filing information, along with the number of positions available, for residents of the area have been put forth by Wayne County Clerk Debra Finn.

The following is the list of positions which voters will be voting on during the May 2024 primary.

Those incumbents (anyone presently serving in an elected office - even if they are filing for an office other than the one they are presently holding) wishing to file for an elected position have until Thursday, Feb. 15.

The non-incumbent filing deadline is Friday, March 1.

Federal offices:

U.S. Senator - six year term - one position;

U.S. Senator - two year term - one position;

U.S. Congress, District 3 - two year term - one position;

County Office, Commissioner, District 3  - four year term - one position;

Legislature, Member District 2 - four year term - one position;

University of Nebraska Board of Regents, Board Member, District 3 - six year term - one position;

Northeast Community College, Board of Governors, District 1 - four year term - one position;

Northeast Community College, Board of Governors, At Large - four year term - one position;

Lower Elkhorn NRD, Board Member, Subdistrict 1 - four year term - one position;

Lower Elkhorn NRD, Board Member, Subdistrict 5 - four year term - one position;

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School, Board Member - four year term - four positions;

Norfolk School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

Pender School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

Pierce School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

Randolph School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

Wakefield School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

Wayne School, Board Member - four year term - three positions;

The General Election filing deadline for Villages, Noxious Weed District, Educational Service Units and Public Power District grossing less than $40 million annually is July 15, 2024 for incumbents and Aug. 1, 2024 for new filers.
