All across the country, tributes were paid to those who have served in this country's military throughout its history. Clockwise from top right, Winside's service included Legion members, Scouts, the laying of a wreath and a poem by Kerry Otte. In Wakefield, the color guard was part of the program. Jim Clark served as the master of ceremonies and Lowell Johnson was this year's speaker. In Carroll, Jerry Junck was recognized for his years of membership in the Legion; Yancey Keiser spoke on the Veterans' Service Office before the group went to the cemetery. In Wayne, Veterans Cemetery was lined with flags; Retired Judge Robert Ensz was the speaker and music was provided by the Wayne Band.
