Robert L. “Bob” Jenkins, 76, of Wayne, died Monday, March 9, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Burial, with military rites, will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. 

Arrangements are with Hasemann Funeral Home of Wayne.

Robert “Bob” Lewis Jenkins was born April 11, 1949 in Hartington to Lewis John and Florence Hazel (Frink) Jenkins.  He was a graduate of Winside High School and Southeast Community College in Milford. Bob served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970 and was awarded the Purple Heart. After returning to the states, Bob married Sharon Gail Munson on Jan. 30, 1971, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne.  The couple lived in Wayne all of their married life. He worked as a mechanic for Fredrickson Oil for several years and then for Heritage Industries before his retirement. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family & grandchildren.

   Bob is survived by his children, Amy Schwartz (Mitch Scranton) of Battle Creek and Chad (Christian) Jenkins of Bellevue; three grandchildren, Jacob Schwartz of Norfolk, Ashlynn Schwartz of Norfolk, and Archer Jenkins of Bellevue; siblings: sister, Janice Pearson of Casper, WY; brother, Jim Jenkins of Castilian Springs, Tennessee; and sister, Karen (Marlin) Barnes Evanston, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews and in-laws.

   Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Florence; wife, Sharon in 2012; in-laws, Lawrence “Bud” and Rita (Winnepenninkx) Munson.
