The 107th annual Dixon County Fair is set to begin Wednesday, July 29 and run through Sunday, Aug. 2.
Activities get underway on Wednesday with open class and 4-H entry and judging. The rabbit and poultry judging will take place.
A free breakfast, sponsored by Farmer's Pride, kicks off Thursday's schedule. The 4-H Horse Show, Open Class Beef Show and 4-H Bucket Calf, Return Bucket Calves and Pee-Wee Calf Show will take place that day also.
A free barbecue begins at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the presentation of Pioneer Farm Family Awards, 4-H Volunteer Awards and a Kiddie Tractor Pull.
The 4-H and Open Class Beef Show are scheduled for Friday, July 31, as well as 4-H Dog, Cat and Companion Animal judging.
The day concludes with McKay Bull Riding.
Activities taking place on Saturday, Aug. 1 include the 4-H and Open Class Sheep and Goat Shows, the Northeast Nebraska Pullers Association Farm Tractor Pull at 11 a.m. and the live auction of metal artist sculptures at 6:45 p.m.
The Outlaw Tractor Pull begins at 7 p.m. that day.
The final day of the fair, Sunday, Aug. 2 begins with a Sunrise Worship Service at 8 a.m.
Other events on the schedule include the 4-H and Open Class Swine Show, the Elite Showmanship Contest and a Car Show from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The 4-H Style Revue, Music Show and Presentations begin at 2:30 p.m.
The fair wraps up with the traditional Demolition Derby at 6 p.m.
The Love-A-Lop Children's Petting Zoo will be on the fairgrounds Thursday through Sunday and a wide variety of antique machinery will be on display.
