Elkhorn Valley Bank Donates to Majestic Campaign(w/pic)
Elkhorn Valley Bank donated a total of $17,500 in contributions, $7,500 since 2020 – the original kick-off for the fund-raising campaign and an additional $10,000 as part of the current Majestic Theatre’s Community Partnership Campaign.
This Oscar level donation will go toward the $130,000 needed for upgrades to the historic theatre.
“The entertainment value and the quality experience the board and team at the Majestic provide for our community is fantastic,” said Corby Schweers, Executive Vice President Elkhorn Valley Bank at the check presentation, “and we want to ensure they can continue that for our community and our employees.”
“Our building and equipment are close to 15 years old, and it is time for significant repairs and upgrades,” said Jill Brodersen, Majestic Board Chairman at the check presentation.
Thirteen years ago, the community renovated the theatre with thousands of volunteer hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.
“We started as a community theatre and intend to always make sure we are working to provide those in Wayne and surrounding towns a quality experience,” Brodersen said.
The Majestic is a 501c-3, non-profit organization – therefore the board and Coordinator, Jason Barelman, works to serve the community and bring diverse entertainment and flexible space at affordable prices. The goal of the Community Partnership Campaign is to raise $130,000 that will go towards projection and sound technology updates, building maintence – including roof and gutter repairs, and updated concessions equipment and signage repairs.
The non-for-profit community theatre works to keep ticket prices at five dollars and regularly hosts schools and special events.
“We welcome all donations,” explained Jenn Thomas, Board Member. “Each donation helps ensure we can keep up with technology, keep our building in good condition, and provide that local, quality experience.”
