Members of the Winside and Carroll Fire Departments responded to a grass fire east of the Highway 35-98 junction on Sunday evening.
The call came in at approximately 6 p.m. and, despite strong northly winds, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
Large portions of Nebraska have been in Red Flag Warnings in recent days due to high winds, low humidity and extremely dry conditions.
Everyone is being encouraged to use extreme caution and avoid any outdoor burning until further notice.
