A spattering of hail rained down on Wayne at around midnight Monday. The hail, although not super large, covered the area in a matter of minutes, loudly pelting windows and waking up those with early bedtimes. Rain and hail have continued through the next day. According to the weather service, northeast Nebraska and parts of southeast South Dakota were in a tornado watch until mid afternoon that day.
