Hay sparks fire on local farm
A tractor and plenty of water brought this fire under control Thursday on the Harold Oberg farm north of Wayne. Sparks from burning shucks set a large hay pile on fire. Other than the loss of the hay, the only other damage was to a fence.
Wayne firemen answered four more fires during the day, all grass fires. They were at the Ward Gilliland, Glen Granquist, and Merlin Reinhart and the city dump.
