March 11, 1974 — Local teacher competes for national office
Don Koenig, elementary and middle school physical education teacher in the Wayne-Carroll School system, is one of two nominees for the office of chairman-elect of the physical education division of a national organization. He and the other individual have been nominated for the post and will vie for the job at the annual convention of the American Association of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. The association includes members from all 50 states. Koenig is elected chairman-elect of the division, one of four in the association. If nominated, he would attend the division's national convention, arrange for presentations by the division and move up to the chairman's post in 1976. Koenig has been in the Wayne-Carroll school system for eight years, moving to Wayne after one year of teaching in the Wakefield school district.
