Wayne High gets neck machine

Thanks to donations from the Wayne Second Guessers Club and the Blue Devil Boosters, the Wayne High School weight program has received a big boost.

The two organizations donated $250 each toward the purchase of a neck machine. According to Lonnie Ehrhardt, Wayne's football and weight coach, the machine will help the school provide a complete strength training facility for athletes.

"We have made a commitment to provide our athletes with a facility where they can develop size, strength, speed, quickness and flexibility," Ehrhardt said.

Ehrhardt said athletes will be able to use the facility and be assured they are working in one of the best facilities in Northeast Nebraska. "Strength training has another feature and that is to help prevent serious injury. If an injury does occur, it helps cut down on the rehabilitation time," the coach said."

Summer conditioning and weight training will begin as soon as school is out.
