Rainbow Riders begins new season

Rainbow Riders second annual Spring Bonanza fundraiser was held April 6 at the Wayne Middle School Commons.

Activities included talented singers from Wayne and surrounding towns, a concession stand and bake sale, and a silent auction.
Generous donations from area businesses and individuals made the event a great success. Matching funds are being given by Wayne AAL Branch 1470 and Coleridge AAL Branch 5428. AAL members helped set up, serve, and clean up for the event.

Sara Hogue of Wisner was recently hired as the Assistant Riding
Instructor for the Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Program.

She brings valuable equestrian and therapeutic riding experience to the program. Sara is a CNA in West Point. Sara and husband, Clint, have one daughter, Zoe.

Rainbow Riders Therapeutic Riding Program serves physically,
mentally, and emotionally disabled children and adults in Northeast Nebraska. Scheduled to begin riding later this month, the Rainbow Riders Program is held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Anyone interested in riding or volunteering should contact Marvel Rahn (375-4827) or Sara Hogue (529-2204).

Rainbow Riders provides an opportunity for individuals and groups to fulfill community service hours for scholarships or other needs.

Volunteers are also needed to put up electric fencing at the Wayne County Fairgrounds this Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m. until fencing is completed. Lunch will be served at the fairgrounds.
