Troop Support Drive underway

Roy Reed Squadron 252, Sons of the American Legion (SONs) and American Legion Auxiliary in Winside is sponsoring a holiday Troop Support drive to send boxes to active-duty military personnel with a connection to Wayne County.

At the present time the group has 12 names and would like to know if Wayne County has additional citizens serving in the Armed Forces of the United States; either stateside or overseas.

The SONs will be filling the boxes at the Winside Legion Post beginning at 5 on Tuesday, Nov. 28. 

Anyone wishing to donate any of the following items may bring them in:  Puzzle books - small Pringle chips - Crystal Light water flavorings - Orchard Valley protein snacks - Twin Bing - Kool-Aid - deck of cards - stationery, greeting cards - lip balm - trail mix - notes from school kids - Pop Tarts - packets of meat - Beef Jerky - Tootie Fruity candy - Tea bags - Ramen Noodles - Fruit Snacks - Homemade Cookies - Iced Animal Crackers - Sunblocker - small gag gifts - Any item that could be a "grab & go" item made in Nebraska.

Submit names and mailing addresses to:  Bud Neel, Squadron Adjutant, 57576 847th Road, Wayne Neb. 68787.  Items may be brought to Winside on Nov. 28 or dropped off at Tom Hansen's CPA Office, 305 Main, Wayne no later than Monday, Nov. 27.

Monetary donations may be sent to Bud Neel with checks payable to:  WINSIDE SONs 252.
