Wayne FCCLA students attend state convention

Wayne FCCLA members traveled to Lincoln for the State Leadership Conference April 2 - 4 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Members in attendance were Avery Herman, Brooklyn Mattison, Natasha Petersen, Alondra Vega, Anna Kaup, Abigail Hawthorne, Regan Fernau, Rylynn Owen, Hallie Heithold, Reagan Wiseman and Joselyn Saltzman.
Three members competed in STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) projects, six in knowledge tests and one ran for the Nebraska State Peer Officer Team.
When students weren't busy competing, they were attending break out/leadership sessions and attending the opportunities fair that showcased several Nebraska colleges.
As a whole, the Wayne FCCLA Chapter represented well and was awarded the Community ServUS Award which recognizes chapters that have contributed most significantly to their community based on hours of community service. The chapter was also recognized as a "Gold Medal Chapter" for efforts put into leadership development, membership, promotion of FCCLA and competitive events.
Regan Fernau ran for a state level leadership position this year. She was elected to the Community State Peer Officer Team. She was selected to be the Vice-Chairperson of this team. She will be taking part in several State Peer Officer meetings and assist in the planning of the State Peer Education Conference in the coming school year.
