Scott Ronhovde, an optometrist at Magnuson-Hopkins Eye Care, earned the Charles D. Seeger Award for the Nebraska Young Optometrist of the Year

This award, which is only available to those optometrists in their first 10 years of practice, was handed out during ceremonies on Sept. 20.

Dr. Josh Hopkins, another of the optometrists at Magnuson-Hopkins Eye Care, had previously won this award in October 2008.

Dr. Ronhovde will be president of the Nebraska Optometric Association in 2027

He is very involved in the education of the technicians for optometry across the state and an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne.

His wife, Anne, and their four children keep him busy outside of helping Magnuson-Hopkins Eyecare

The family moved to Wayne in July of 2015

Dr. Ronhovde practices general optometry but also does specialty contact lens fits and low vision. Wayne is one of only four 4 locations in the state to offer this service.

A congratulatory open house for Dr. Ronhovde and new name reveal will be held at Magnuson-Hopkins Eye Care on West Highway 35 on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 4 - 6 p.m.
