Wildcat cross country results from Dordt Invite

With the NSIC Championships set for the end of October, Wayne State College women’s and men’s cross country competitors wrapped up their four regular season races.

From Sioux Center, Iowa, the Wildcats joined nine other women’s and 10 other men’s teams during the Dordt Invite.

The Wayne State College women finished ninth with 191 points as the Wildcat men placed seventh with 188 points.

In the women’s division, the host Dordt won their home invite with 20 points (took four of top five spots); Benedictine (KS) followed in runner-up with 90 points; Doane took third (122), Concordia (NE) placed fourth (127) and Minnesota Crookston rounded out the top five teams with 159 points.

Kaitlyn Bloomenrader paced the Wildcat women in 22nd place in a time of 23:20.8 followed by Allie Czapla in 46th during a time of 24:03.3.

Other results came from Sydney Escritt (51st – 24:15.3), Madeline Kunz (56th – 24:23.1), Callie Kirchner (72nd – 24:46.7), Jozlyn Barnes (88th – 25:30.7), Maelee Beacom (99th – 25:54.4), Taylor Thorp (110th – 26:28.4), Madi McKie (114th – 26:43.7) and Nikola Prochazkova (127th – 27:18.1).

Corinne Braun from Dordt won the 6,000-meter race in a time of 21:52.6 among the 142 runners.

During the men’s division, Dordt won their home meet with 34 points; Doane followed in runner-up with 56 points; Concordia (NE) took third (83), Bellevue placed fourth (115) and Benedictine (KS) rounded out the top five teams with 121 points.

Quentin Dreyer led the WSC men in 16th in a time of 25:43.5 followed by Ethan Walters in 27th during a time of 26:11.5.

Other results came from Brody Lucas (41st – 26:30.3), Brady Franzen (69th – 27:13.8), Brandon Mitzel (80th – 27:22.5), Akron Jostand (98th – 27:44.8), William Keller (148th – 29:20.7) and Simeon Weers (176th – 31:32.8).

Aidan Vorster from Dordt won the men’s 8,000-meter race in a time of 24:49.1 among the 182 runners.

The Wayne State College women’s and men’s cross country team will be off until Saturday, Oct. 26 for the NSIC Championships in Minot, North Dakota.
