Your voice has power at Wayne State's World Speech Day event

Posted

Your voice matters. Wayne State College invites community members to freely express important and not so important ideas at World Speech Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Hoffbauer Plaza, located on the south side of Wayne State’s Student Center. World Speech day has happened at WSC for a few years now.

The event is free and open to college and high school students as well as community members.

Participants are encouraged to speak freely on any topic. Engaging activities include “Spin the Wheel of Ideas” and “Pin Your Ideas to the Wall.” For those who may want to give an extemporaneous speech can spin the wheel to get a random topic.

This great learning opportunity features food, prizes, activities, and cool WSC swag.

World Speech Day is a global event locally sponsored by the Wayne State Department of Communication’s Leadership Theory class, under the direction of Dr. Teresa Morales, associate professor of communication at Wayne State, and the Civic Leadership at Wayne State (CLAWS) student organization.
