Visitors from all across the country were in Wayne last week for the WayneAmerica Fly-in. The National STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) and STOL Drag races were held during the four-day event. Plane enthusiasts took the opportunity to show off their planes and share information about flying. New this year was an aviation panel with several guests talking about various careers in aviation. Wind conditions did not always cooperate and some of the races were delayed and run under the lights. Several organizations had displays at the airport to promote aviation. In addition to planes, several of the spectators flew into Wayne in helicopters. Filming of the events took place and will be used as part of a documentary on flying.
