Family Outdoor Day planned at Ike's Lake

The Wayne Izaak Walton League and the Logan Creek Chapter of Pheasants Forever are teaming up to put on a Family Outdoor Day on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The event will be held at the lake, located four miles north, two miles west and three-tenths of a mile north of Wane on 574th Avenue. Signs will be posted to assist those attending to find the lake.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with station events being held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and again from 1-4 p.m. A free-will hot dog lunch will be served from 12-1 p.m.
Events/stations scheduled to be part of the day's activities include a BB Shoot, Archery, Fishing, Streams, Trees, Birding, Nature Walk, Astronomy, Nature Art, Mammals/Habitat and Macro Invertebrates.
The event is designed for the entire family and no children drop-offs will be allowed. A parent or guardian must accompany the children.
The entire community is being invited to "come learn about nature and the outdoors from area professors and professionals."
Those attending will be able to come and go as needed and are invited to bring lawn chairs and fishing poles if they wish.
The rain out day is Sunday, Aug. 28 with a 10:30 start time.
