A former Winside teacher pleaded guilty to amended charges Wednesday regarding a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
Cali Heikes, 26, according to court records, previously faced three charges, but one charge was amended and another dropped.
Heikes pleaded guilty to First Degree Sexual Abuse by a School Employee (Count I) and Second Degree Sexual Abuse by a School Employee (Count II).
A third charge, another Second Degree Sexual Abuse by a School Employee, was dropped.
The court also informed Heikes of the requirements of the Sex Offender Registration Act.
Heikes' original arrest occurred in January after Wayne County Sheriff Jason Dwinell received a tip about the potential relationship.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 6.
