A Friday afternoon collision between a mini-school bus and a vehicle at the traffic signal just east of Wayne Junior-Senior High School sent two people to Providence Medical Center.
According to eyewitness accounts, a maroon Jeep 4x4 collided with the bus, owned by Mid State School Bus Inc. of Wayne, with both vehicles coming to rest in the eastbound lane of Seventh Street just west of Sherman Street.
Both drivers were taken to PMC by Providence ambulance crews. No children were believed to have been on the bus at the time of the accident.
Wayne Police Department is investigating the accident. Wayne Volunteer Fire and Rescue were on hand at the scene.
