The Wayne Area Legacy Fund (WALF) granted $3,000 to Wayne FFA to support the purchase of sensor tools that students will use to conduct research.  THE WALF has granted over $50,000 to the Wayne Area and is currently accepting grant applications for 2023.  Anyone who is aware of a Wayne area non-profit that would like to receive funds, please have them complete a simple application which can be found at www.WayneAreaLegacyFund. org."

According to Wayne High Ag Instructor/FFA Advisor Toni Rasmussen, "the funds from Wayne Area Legacy Fund will go toward sensors used in the ag classroom for various classes. Different sensors measure conductivity in the soil, pH in the water of the Grow Towers, pH in the soil, heart rate, sound decibels, temperature, and other measurements. As a student in ag class, they're able to get a more accurate measurement when we are doing experiments and adjusting the Grow Towers."
