PENDER – Several northeast Nebraska Class C Senior American Legion baseball teams will be stacked up against one another during a five-day Area tournament.
From the David Nitzschke Memorial Field in Pender, the Class C Area 2 tournament will showcase Wakefield Post 81 Senior American Legion baseball.
Class B/C Senior American Legion Area baseball tournaments will begin on Friday, July 26 and last through Tuesday, July 30 with a rain date set for Wednesday, July 31.
#4 Wakefield Post 81 will play the first game of the day in Pender on Friday against #3 Oakland Post 46 at 2 p.m.
Other Friday outings will include #2 Plainview Post 148 vs. #5 Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells Post 85 at 4:30 p.m. followed by #1 Pender Post 55 vs. #6 Tekamah-Herman Post 15/274 at 7 p.m.
The Pender/Tekamah-Herman loser will face the Plainview / Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells loser at 2 p.m. on Saturday; followed by the Plainview / Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells winner vs. the Oakland/Wakefield winner at 4:30 p.m. before closing out Saturday with the Pender/Tekamah-Herman winner vs. the Oakland/Wakefield loser at 7 p.m.
Sunday game times are set for 2/5 p.m.; Monday’s lone game will be at 6 p.m. with the Class C Area 2 Finals in Pender set for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
Another northeast Nebraska Class C Senior American Legion baseball tournament will showcase the Area 1 hosted by Crofton.
Teams being represented will be the host Crofton, Creighton-Bloomfield, Hartington, Orchard/ Tri-County, Ponca and Stanton. A complete bracket will be posted once available.
