Power Drive team honored in West Point

The Wayne High School Power Drive competed in the Cuming County Open in West Point on April 7.

Car A39 finished in second place in endurance. It was driven by first time drivers Derek Davis and Tyler Wurdeman and completed 57 laps (24 miles) in one hour of racing.

In the competition, drivers switched half way through the hour long rally, allowing more students to be part of the competition.

Car A39's pit crew, consisting of Jacob Stenka, Garrett Heikes, Evan Lubberstedt, Garrett Zink, and Luke Pulfer, was awarded best pit crew at the rally. This award is given to the team that shows the best teamwork, and works safely throughout the competition.

Wayne High School is gearing up for two races this weekend. They will be competing in Columbus on Friday, April 13 and at the First National Bank Card Center in Wayne on Saturday, April 14.

The Rally in Wayne begins at 10 a.m. and admission is free. A total of 26 cars have signed up to compete in the event.
