Learning the basics
Explorer Post Advisor Lionel Moore, physics instructor at Wayne State College, goes over some of the basic information about flying with aviation Explorers Ron Boyce and Susan Jacobmeier.
Also, in the post are Mike Rhods, Gordon Emry and Steve Brandt, all Wayne High School students.
They have been meeting every other Wednesday for several weeks, learning how planes fly and what knowledge it takes to keep them airborne.
The group is trying to raise funds to take a flight trip to the Sandhills, Badlands and Black Hills this summer.Moore said anybody who wishes to have their airplanes washed or waxed should contact him so the Explorers can undertake the project.
