April 23, 2015 — Wayne Students present science research projects at GNSEF
Six Wayne Junior-Senior High School students and one Wayne Elementary student presented their science research projects at the 49th Annual Greater Nebraska Science and Engineering Fair, held in Nebraska City March 27-29. Over 60 students participated in this year's fair, representing grades 6-12.
Wayne students came home with three first place medals, one third place medal, and two honorable mention medals. Marcella Jurotich, a freshman, received the first place medal in the Senior Division category of Environmental Science. First place Junior Division category medals were awarded to eighth grader Jessica Schenk in Behavioral and Social Sciences and sixth grader Treyton Blecke in Computer Science. Elizabeth Fertig placed second in Junior Division Behavioral and Social Sciences, Josie Thompson was third in Junior Division Microbiology, and Avianna Jones-Doring and Terran Sievers were honorable mentions in Junior Division Microbiology and Junior Division Animal Science, respectively.
