The Old Malt Shop rings with "Seeya later, alligator!"

Were the 50's really that funny? They were according to about 50 Wayne High School senior girls who Thursday rummaged through attics or otherwise improvised to come up with several versions of what the fads of two decades past were like.

After school dozens of the braver masqueraders trouped down to the malt shop (Felber's Pharmancy) for cokes. Ponytails tied (Jauntily on top of their heads ) The girls smiled very red smiles and tried to construct the great bubble gum masterpieces another generation was so apt at. And when it was all over they went off down the street, jeans rolled above bobby scocks and dirty sneakers and fukk skirts whipping in the wind calling, "See ya later, alligator!"

(It was whispered about that the senior boys weren't brave enough to dress up for the act.)

Caught in action at the soda fountain were: Jill Froelich, Lisa Einung, Jan Sherry, Jeannie Wacker, Lisa Lesh, Barb Schwartz and Sallly Leseberg.
