Winside begins construction on new community library

Since its creation in 1996, the Winside Library Foundation has been raising money through donations, fundraisers, memorials and grants to construct a new public library in the Village of Winside.

The cost of the project is estimated at $150,000. With the necessary funds raised, construction has begun on the new library with most of the labor being performed by local area residents.

The new library will be a 40 x 70 foot building that will incorporate children and adult reading areas, meeting room, and computer center.

As part of its pledge, the Winside State Bank donated three lots on Main Street for the home of the new library facility.
