WHS students earn academic honors

On April 16, 35 Wayne High School students participated in the Northeast Community College Academic Contest.

Students participated in a wide variety of contests ranging from algebra and government to welding and drafting.

Over 1,100 students from 42 schools participated in the event, with medals being awarded to the top three individuals in each academic area.

Wayne high students brought home 14 medals, with
results as follows:
— Collin Loberg, third in American Government and second in Physics
— Colin Webster, first in American History
— Max Morris, second in Business Law
— Sawyer Jager, first in Calculus and third in Computer
Literacy
— Martha Mitiku, first in Foods & Nutrition
— Elle Schramm, second in Health
— Cassy Miller, second in Introduction to Psychology
— Megan Hoffart, second in Library Usage
— Laura Anderson, second in Literature
— Joseph Burrows, third in Music
— Ben Braun, third in SMAW Welding
— Casey Dalager, first in World History
