Wayne Woman's cake recipe published
"Speechless" is what Mrs. Frank (Marie) Lansing, Wayne, was when she received a card from Elsie W. Manning, Food Editor of Farm Journal.
The card informed Mrs. Lansing that her recipe for chocolate applesauce cake had been published in Farm Journal's latest cookbook, "Homemade Ice Cream and Cake."
Not only was her recipe published, but she also received a free copy of the $5.95 cookbook.
One and a half years ago, Mrs. Lansing read an article in Farm Journal about sending in a recipe and receiving a dollar.
She sent the cake recipe in and forgot about it until about a week ago when her husband Frank, picked up the mail and read a postcard telling about the publication.
