Wool contest runner-up
Cynthia Walde of Winside was the runner-up in the 1981 Nebraska Make It Yourself With Wool Contest held Nov. 27-28 in Kearney.
Thirty-five contestants from seven Nebraska districts competed in the contest. Miss Walde received a Bernina 801 Sewing Machine for her garment fashioned from wool.
Cynthia's teal wool skirt in a slim style was fashioned from a Vogue pattern. Her knitted sweater of wool and angora in shades of teal, rust and natural was a pullover style with a bateau neckline. A banded knitted cuff fashioned the sleeves.
