From the December 3, 1981 edition of The Wayne Herald:
Fun-filled Christmas fair
Members of Wayne's United Methodist Women combine a lot of fun with a lot of hard work in prepartation for their annual Christmas Fun Fair.
Inez Olds shares a laugh with a group of women who gathered at the church last week to work on several gift shop items which will be available at the fair.
For shoppers who feel like they're lost in a forest when selecting a suitable Christmas gift, First United Methodist Women of Wayne suggest shopping their Christmas Fun Fair for many holiday gift items.
Churchwomen have been busy for weeks designing the many unusual gifts and booths which for the past several years have attracted hundreds of area shoppers to the annual event.
The fair, which is the major fund-raising project for United Methodist Women, will be held this Saturday in the church fellowship room.
Doors to the fair open at 10 a.m. and will remain open until 3 p.m., said co-chairmen Becky Wilson, Norma Carr and Betty Lawrence.
