From the February 22, 1962 edition of The Wayne Herald:
Snow Encases Wayne
Snow filled the streets in Wayne Saturday and Sunday and a picture taken Sunday morning showed cars were unable to even park near the curbs in most areas.
About 10 inches of snow were recorded over the weekend and as The Herald went to press Tuesday, a heavy snow was falling and severe weather warnings were out for NE Nebraska.
