Wayne Herald Employee Buys Wausa Gazette

A Wayne man, Duane Hamm, has purchased a weeklyvnewspaper and job shop, The Wausa, Nebr., Gazette, and will assume ownership from Richard Schultz March 1.

Hamm, 32, has made his home in Wayne and worked for The Wayne Herald as a linotype operator the past 4 and a half years.

Prior to coming to Wayne, Hamm spent three years with the Wakefield Republican, His first experience in newspaper work was with the Republican in Osmond, where he began as a
"printer's devil" while still in grade school. In his 12 years with the Osmond paper he learned most phases of the newspaper business.

Hamm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hamm of Osmond, is a 1957 graduate of Osmond High School.

The Hamm family, which includes wife, Sharon, and daughters, Jeana, 10 years old, Teresa, nine, Michelle, seven, and Kelly, two, hopes to be settled in their new home and school
about March 4.
