Local speech club competes in several meets
The Wayne High School speech team has competed in several meets in recent weeks.
The Novice team earned fourth place at the Boone Central meet and the West Point Central Catholic tournament.
Individual placings so far this season include :
• Emily Brady -first place at Boone Central in Humorous Prose and third place in Poetry.
• Sarah Replogle -first place in Novice Poetry at Boone Central and first place in Varsity Poetry at West Point Central Catholic.
• Luke Grome- seconf place in Novice Entertainment at Boone Central
• Brady Garvin- first place in Extemporaneous at Stanton
• Blair Sommerfeld- third place in Novice Extemporaneous at Stanton
• Ashley Gentrup-fourth place in Novice Informative at Boone Central; second place in Novice serious prose at Boone Central and fifth in Varsity Serious Prose West Point Central Catholic.
• Duet (Jeff Meyer and Charity Kroecker)- third place.
• Duet (Jeff Meyer and Charity Kroecker) -Third place at Stanton and fourth place at West Point Central Catholic.
• Oral Interpretation of Drama ( Jeff Meyer, Charity Kroecker, Luke Grone and Michelle Murray)- third place at West Point Central Catholic.
• Other team members include Christina Bondhus, Ryan Lewon, Katie Osten, Charles Holm and Karissa Dorcey.
The Speech team will compete on Saturday, Feb.15 at Wisner Pilger and Saturday, Feb. 22 at Battle Creek before competing in Conference and District tournament.
