Getting a new look

Plans for Hoskins' new downtown look were revealed recently, giving the town board and residents a glimpse of what the community's business district may soon look like. According to Duane Upton of Consolidated Engineers of Wayne, the board will have to wait until its February meeting to award bids and find out the starting time for the proposed $117,000 project that will include two blocks on paved streets, storm sewer and underground water line to accommodate expected growth in business. Nebraska Public Power District will install new utility poles in the downtown area, Upton pointed out, to help beautify the main street.

In addition, trees will be planted to enhance the shopping area.
