Wildcats secure the win
WSTC Wildcats won their first holiday basketball tournament by defeating Washburn 73-57 Friday night. The 'Cats had given up the trophy every prior year, but a well-balanced team effort clinched the title in the four-team tourney.
Larry Coney scored 20 points in the championship game to set a new total point record at WSTC.
Wayne State travels to Midland Friday to face the team that gave them their worst defeat of the 1960-61 season.
