From the January 5, 2012 edition of The Wayne Herald:
Trenahile among those named by Sen. Nelson for service academy
Nebraska's Senator Ben Nelson has released the names of 38 young Nebraska men and women he has nominated to attend the four U.S. Service Academies.
Among those nominated was Luke Trenhaile of Wayne, who was named to the Merchant Marine.
The nominees were named after meeting with an Academy Advisory Board appointed by Nelson. Some have been nominated to more than one academy.
Nelson has submitted the names of the nominees to the individual academies which will make the final selection of those who will actually receive an appointment.
