Reception honors 90th birthday of Meta Meyer

One hundred thirty relatives and friends attended an open house reception Monday afternoon, Dec. 28, honoring the 90th birthday of Mrs. Meta Meyer of Wayne.

The event, held in the Wayne Woman's Club room, was hosted by her children, Helen Echtenkamp of Wayne, Erna Sahs of Carroll, and Reuben and Alta Meyer of Wakefield.

Another son and his wife, Erwin and Connie Meyer of Sparks, Nev., were unable to attend.
Out of town guests were from Phoenix, Ariz.; Denver, Colo.; Arroyo Grande, Calif.; Wakefield, Wisner, Ponca, Emerson, Lincoln, Omaha, Newcastle, Hildreth, Carroll and Papillion.

Granddaughter Lois Hall of Wayne was at the guest book and arranged gifts.

Another granddaughter, Sandra Zuber of Omaha, baked, decorated and served the birthday cake.

Other grandchildren serving were Karen Allen, Phyllis Robinson, JoAnn Sahs, Cynthia Evers, Joyce Carpentier, LaVonne Johnson, Nancy Meyer and Karlene Meyer.

Great grandchildren assisting in the kitchen were Lana, Venna and Stacy Johnson, LouAnn Wiltse, Connie Hall and Mary Hall.

The program included a selection on the cello by Scott Hall, accompanied by Stacy Johnson. Mrs. Meyer has resided in Wayne the past 37 years. She has four children. 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.
